E-bike Torque Sensors
IDbike Torque Sensors
Precision, Performance, Reliability
Electric bicycles rely on sensors to deliver power efficiently, ensuring a ride that feels both natural and intuitive. A well-designed e-bike should respond seamlessly to the rider’s effort, providing the right amount of assistance when needed. This is where torque sensors make significant difference.
TMM4 Torque Sensor
Innovation for a more natural ride
The TMM4 sensor is a patented, high-precision torque sensor, designed to accurately measure the cyclist’s pedaling force and translate it into a smooth and natural motor assistance. This allows riders to enjoy a more intuitive and controlled cycling experience, withouth the need for frequent manual adjustments to power levels.

E-Bike Torque Sensor Advantages
One of the main advantages of the TMM4 sensor is its exceptional price-to-performance ratio. Unlike other torque sensors on the market, which can be costly and difficult to integrate, the TMM4 offers high-end precision at an accessible cost, making it an ideal solution for both premium and mass-market e-bikes.
Beyond its affordability, the TMM4 is engineerd for durability and protection. The sensor has a low-profile design, allowing it to be fully integrated into the rear dropout of the bicycle. This ensures that the sensor remains well-protected from external impacts, dirt, and debris, while also improving the bike’s overall appearance. Riders get the benefit of a fully enclosed, accurate torque sensor, without compromising the bike’s design.
Our innovative torque sensors
IDbike introduced an advanced, ultra-compact torque sensor for modern e-bikes applications. One of our latest innovations is the Super Compact Sensor, specifically designed for bikes with a through-axle system. This sensor is optimal for mountain bikes, racing bicycles, and performance pedelecs due to its weight reduction, aerodynamic efficiency, and precise torque measurement.
So how does this work?
The TMM4 sensor consists of a magnetic sensor embedded in an aluminium sensor plate, along with a magnet housed in a circular casing. This patented design allows for precise torque measurements. When a cyclist applies force to the pedals, the chain force slightly deflects the sensor plate, this movement, while minimal (up to 0.1 mm), is detected with extreme accuracy.
TMM4 Robust Design
To ensure long-term durability, IDbike has subjected the TMM4 sensor to rigorous testing under extreme conditions. The sensor is:
- Fully coated with a special resin, making it resistant to moisture, dust and salt.
- Tested in salt water for at least one week, while still operating normally.
- Completely solid-state, meaning no moving parts and no wear and tear over time.
The TMM4 is designed for ultimate reliability, ensuring that riders experience a smooth, predictable response in all conditions, without any drop in performance over time.

Different E-bikes, flexible integration
IDbike understands that different type of riders require different levels of sensitivity in their pedal-assist systems. That is why the TMM4 sensor is available in two versions, tailored to different riding styles.
- Medium Sensitivity – Designed for sportive e-bikes, including mountain bikes, high-speed pedelecs, and performance-oriented electric bicycles. This version creates strong, responsive motor engagement for demanding conditions.
- High Sensitivity – Ideal for city bikes, touring bicycles, and casual e-mountain bikes. This version provides a balanced motor response and smooth power delivery.
IDbike has continued its pursuit of innovation in the TMM4 sensor by developing a new generation of torque sensors that are smaller, completely flat, and offer better stability.
